What the ERP knows, and what it ignores
| The ERP knows | The ERP ignores |
|---|---|
| How many parts are in stock | Who can diagnose the failure the part will fix |
| Who is assigned to which position | Who is the only person to master a task |
| When a contract ends | What leaves with the person on that date |
| What a training course costs | Whether it reduced a risk |
The same model, applied to knowledge
- A reference model: structures, processes, tasks, knowledge, people — one org chart everything attaches to.
- Transactions: assessments, validated contributions, action plans, training paths, recruitments.
- Indicators: criticality, availability, health per structure, retirement wave.
- An audit log: who did what, and when, neither optional nor erasable.
- Reports: a decision board, exportable.
It connects, it does not replace
Org chart and headcount import from files out of the ERP or HRIS; an API serves regular exchanges. The wiki, the document management system and the intranet stay: KnowledgeCapital reads, read-only, Confluence, SharePoint and Microsoft 365, document management systems through CMIS or WebDAV, Notion and your intranet, and links each page to the knowledge it describes. Confluence is a trademark of Atlassian; SharePoint and Microsoft 365 are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; Notion is a trademark of Notion Labs, Inc. KnowledgeCapital is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by these companies.
Sovereign, as an ERP should be
Self-hosted edition, no outbound connection, local AI, full reversibility. Or hosted edition, with one isolated database per customer.
