Step 0 — Getting your blank space, signing in, securing your account

Get a blank space, sign in, secure your account and read the “System status” screen that guides the whole setup, line by line.

In short. A space opened from the portal starts on demonstration data: you reset it yourself, in blank mode. An on-premises installation already delivers an empty space. You then change your password, and the “System status” screen lists the seven lines to turn green, one by one.

Where a blank space comes from

On the portal (trial or subscription). Your space opens with demo data, so that you can see the product in action straight away. To start from scratch and configure your organization, you reset it yourself, in blank mode, as shown below.

On an on-premises installation. The installation delivers a space that is already blank, and an administrator account with a temporary password. Go straight to “Sign in”.

Resetting the space in blank mode

1
Top menu: Administration › Settings. At the very top of the page is the Workspace reset block.
2
Click Reset this workspace…. Two options appear: tick 1 Start on a completely blank base.
3
Type 2 REINITIALISER in capitals in the confirmation field.
4
Click 3 Reset now. It takes effect immediately: the space is empty within a few seconds.
Settings › Workspace reset: blank mode ticked, the confirmation typed in, the button that resets the space.

What is replaced, and what remains. All the data in the space is replaced: org chart, people, knowledge, contributions, connectors. Always kept: your login account (username, password, name) and your academy (activation and progress). A backup of the previous state is made automatically just beforehand, but only support can restore it. So do this reset before you enter your real data, never after.

The sign-in screen: username, password, then “Sign in”.
The sign-in screen: username, password, then “Sign in”.

Your login is your username (not necessarily your e-mail address). If your account still uses a temporary password, a screen asks you to choose a new one before going any further: this is intentional.

Securing your account

1
Top menu: My account.
2
1 your current password, 2 the new one, 3 the new one again, then 4 Change my password. The rules are displayed as you type (length, capital letter, digit, special character).
3
On the same page, turn on two-step verification if your organization requires it.
My account: current password, new password, confirmation, then the button that saves it.

The screen that will guide you: “System status”

Administration › System status. In a blank space, it reports that six items are missing: this is normal. Its seven lines are exactly the list of what this guide will turn green: the org chart, strategic objectives, knowledge linked to objectives, the criticality grid, validation committees, validated assessment questions, and user accounts. Come back to it after each step.

What you should see now. A single structure in the org chart, bearing the name of your organization; no people; no knowledge items; two accounts (yours and the technical account). If you see hundreds of people, you are still on the demo data: reset again in blank mode.

And the two “start” screens in the menus?

Two screens carry this word, and they are used at different times. Knowledge steering › Getting started: who knows what is for you: it is the “who knows what” matrix, filled in all at once (step 5). Guided start is for your employees at their first sign-in (step 7); for the administrator account, which has no employee record, it has nothing to show.

See the product full, then see yours.Every space opens on a demonstration organisation that is already mapped: you grasp the logic in ten minutes, then you start from scratch for your own. The trial lasts 14 days, with no card. Start a free 14-day trial (no card needed) or request a demo.
